Fire For Effect

It appears that the Israeli Defense Force has been returning fire against Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.

Israeli planes and artillery have fired on suspected Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon after an Israeli border unit was attacked.

The UN said a French officer on patrol had been killed by the shelling near the disputed Shebaa Farms area.

The headline? "Israel mounts south Lebanon raid." Not "Israeli warplanes return fire after Hezbollah attack." Media bias? Of course! It's the BBC!

And the money shot?

Hezbollah said in a statement its attack on the Israeli vehicle "was within the framework of our efforts to liberate the remainder of Lebanese lands under occupation in the Shebaa Farms area".

Translation? "They're dirty Jewish pig dogs, of course we fired on them."

Good on you, IDF. If anyone from the French military is reading this... What was one of your boys doing in Hezbollah territory? Explain that one.
