In Working Order

You've got to hand it to the South African military. When they carry out a raid, they accomplish their mission with extreme prejudice.

South African military police have raided a military museum and arrested its director and two curators.

The Thursday night swoop related to the alleged possession of stolen military property, an army spokesman said.

Three armoured vehicles which were on display to the public were confiscated, as according to army records they should have been destroyed.

Military police were especially concerned because the equipment was in working condition, the army said.

"They're in good working order at this stage - that's one of the reasons why we took them back," Lt Col Louis Kirstein told the BBC's Focus on Africa programme.

Being a former part of the British Commonwealth, I wonder if South Africa will be invited to join the EU's battle groups, based on this recent victory.
