Oil Threatenin' Mullahs

This story's for all of the liberals who think that Iran's developing nuclear power technology for "peaceful research purposes".

Iran's top nuclear official on Saturday warned the United States and Europe of the danger of an oil crisis if Tehran is sent before the UN Security Council over its nuclear programme, rejecting outright their demands to halt uranium enrichment.

Taking the matter to the Security Council would be "playing with fire", Hassan Rowhani, whose country is the second largest oil producer in OPEC, told reporters.

"The first to suffer will be Europe and the United States themselves, this would cause problems for the regional energy market, for the European economy and even more so for the United States," Rowhani said at a conference in Tehran on nuclear technology and sustainable development.

"Hold us accountable for all of the international laws we're breaking just by enriching this uranium and building these nuclear weapons... Er, uh, reactors, and we'll cut off the oil! We'll do it, we swear!"

You can't imagine how relieved I am that there's no such thing as "President Kerry"; President Bush is our only hope of nipping this nonsense in the bud.
