The Last Day

Today was my last lecture day as a college undergraduate. I decided to go out in style; those of you who are familiar with me, particularly April, will probably know that means. My first class of the day was with Professor Augustus, my second was the theater class, and the third and final official class was math.

The day's not quite over; I've still got a radio station friend's honors college thesis defense, and work tonight, and the shindig with the Socratics. Even so, I want to put a few bits and pieces up, to keep you, my beloved readers, informed.

  • Appropriately, I had a class with Professor Augustus today.
  • I went to the theater class, where the instructor announced that she would be giving us our grades. If we were content with our grades, we don't have to take the final, which falls on Friday at 09:30. I've heard of other professors doing this, but it's never happened for me until now. I got my grade sheet to find that I've got ninety-three percent; I'll most likely skip the final, and I left class about twenty-five minutes early, since those planning not to take the final had no reason to stay.
  • We finished going over last year's final in that math class, and were released around twenty-five minutes early.
  • Given a great deal of extra time, I decided to head to the history/home ec building, where Professor Augustus was giving another class. I wanted my advisor, who I've spent countless hours with in and out of class, who has shaped the way I look at the world, to be the last person whose lecture I attended as an undergraduate. He highlighted the entire experience by asking me a question in class related to the material.

So that's it. Save for my three finals on Monday, I'm done. I've spent five years in college, and this is the end. What have I learned during this period? Quite a bit, but it can all be summed up by the timeless words of a great philosopher, paraphrased in one of the finest films of all time:

"All I know, is that I know nothing, dude."
