China's not stupid. Any support they give to Robert Mugabe is going to be criticized by every reputable country in the world. They're not going to risk sanctions or bad press from the Euroweenies or the Americans or even, you guessed it, Canadians, over some little nut job in Zimbabwe. So what do they do? They give him the same minor help they would have given him otherwise, forcing him to take his problems to someone else.
