Concert Bragging
For no particular reason, this is the post where you can brag about all of the wicked sweet concerts you've been to. Got backstage at an REO Speedwagon show and gave the drummer a hummer? Brag about it! (And Wife, I'm looking at you!) Convinced Belinda Carlisle to take you back to her hotel room back in '82? Post it! (Lycan, make me proud!) Dry humped Dolly Parton's leg for a full fifteen seconds before being thrown in the big house by the pigs? Tell the crowd all about it! (Harley, spill your guts!)
For my part, here are the highlights of my concert-going career.
In April of 2004, I met, interviewed, and saw the Proclaimers in concert at a club up in Metropolis.
I saw Hootie and the Blowfish twice, both times in Metropolis; once at the beginning of my freshman year of high school, and once near the end of my senior year of high school. They rocked both times, before Darius Rucker did that Burger King commercial where he was dressed up like a cowboy.
I went with a close friend, female, hot, to see Chris Isaak during September of 2002. Not only did the show kick serious ass, but I got my picture taken with him. Chris Isaak is the only artist I've ever seen who actually sat behind a table after the show and signed autographs, for free, for everyone who waited in line to see him. This show was in Metropolis.
During either my junior or senior year of high school, probably senior year, I saw Third Eye Blind down in Hippyville on the Dragons and Astronauts tour. The show rocked, and I think I still have a couple of the souvenirs.
Back when I was in my Christian music phase, I went to several really great concerts. I saw the Orange County Supertones and Audio Adrenaline in Capital City. I saw Third Day and the Newsboys up in Metropolis. I also saw DC Talk up in Metropolis.
Oh, and I was briefly a roadie for John Kay and Steppenwolf, the late Chris LeDoux, and very briefly for Toby Keith. And no, I'm not kidding.
Go ahead, folks. Post it up. Who have you seen? Any really exciting stories? I'll try to get a couple of pictures posted on this post in the next hour or two.
