Authenticity Maintenance

Sometimes, it's important to keep it real. Isn't that right, Father Time?

AP: Al Qaeda's Message Spreading Through English-Language Sites
Fox: Tracking Your Taxes: Americans Spend Millions for Environmental Groups to Sue the Government
Fox: Colombia Says Venezuelan Soldiers Blew Up 2 Bridges
AP: Muslim Nations Seeking International Blasphemy Ban
CNN: Afghan minister: Taliban can be defeated - Yes, the Taliban can be defeated, but not without a substantial anti-corruption push in the Afghan government, and not without more troops with solid objectives being deployed from outside Afghanistan.
Guardian: Say no to asbos for downloaders - The article may be about the Internet in Britain, but everyone should read it: granting the executive power to ban someone from the Internet over a so-called crime (and a minor one at that) that is almost impossible to prove is a recipe for disaster on all fronts.
Times: Hurricane Katrina flood was man-made disaster - Absolutely correct: money had been diverted away from the very projects that were necessary to ensure the survival of a city that was built below sea level. Hurricane Katrina was not a horrible natural disaster, or "proof of climate change" - it was a testament to government corruption in New Orleans and Louisiana.
Times: Archbishop [Williams] tells Pope: women priests here for good - Rowan Williams is a jackass. I would know, I'm one of his parishioners, sort of.
News: North Korean defector describes life in the secret state's army
UPI: Commentary: Piece of Cake - A very interesting piece on the possible aftermath of a theoretical Israeli strike against Iran's nuclear facilities.

That's it for today. Like I said at the outset: very authentic. Have a great Monday.
