Stood Up
So the latest slap in the face? The Lobster called me this afternoon while I was on my way home from the gun show and said she was going to be in town tonight. Brilliant, right? So I told her to give me a call when she'd had some time alone with her family, 'cause I like her family, but I don't want to be an interloper. Dig?
So I'm thinking: "Right, I want to look at some books in College City, the road time plus the time in the shop itself would give the Lobster and I some good chit chat time, no worries, eh?" Well, the Lobster (who, you'll remember, called me first) never called. I tried her a couple of times. Apparently she forgot her mobile phone up in Capital City (or maybe even Metropolis?), and her friend had it. Thus, when I called several times to see if she was ready for me to come over to her mother's place, it was her friend who saw that I was calling.
Eventually, the friend called her, and she called me, apologizing all over herself. They got busy playing cards. The sad thing is that it's not an excuse; if the Lobster said they were playing cards, then they were playing cards.
Still, it's rather frustrating to waste half of my Friday night being dragged around by a girl who ignores me, then wasting most of my Saturday night waiting for a call from a friend that never comes. Between this and all the nonsense from the Mirror... Yeah, life's pretty frustrating these days, eh?
