Lee is Wrong Again
From earlier today:
To which Lee replied:
I don't buy it. I'm not saying that there aren't Christians like Pat Robertson who, unfortunately, get lumped in with the overwhelming majority.
Let's expand on this. Allow me to rephrase Lee's statement.
Now this statement would, of course, be stupid. The kind of folks represented by Robertson are not drastically different than the filthy communists who get their rallies visited by the various chapters of Protest Warriors; the only difference is their particular political leaning.
Do the nut jobs who shut down roads and carry "Bush = Hitler" signs represent mainstream Democrats? Of course not. Do the nut jobs who say that gay marriage is a bigger threat to our nation than terrorism represent the mainstream majority of Christians? Absolutely not; they're, at most, a small minority.
Lee doesn't seem to think that morality has much of an effect on society, and in a free country he has the right to hold that opinion. Ironically, though, he has an entire category on his site dedicated to the "Decline of Western Civilization."
Lee, if you're reading this, what do you think is causing this decline in Western Civilization? Is it sword control in Australia, and people accusing Denny's of racism? Or is the decline of Western Civilization caused by people who have started to ignore morality, common sense, and the foundations of society?
I'll give you a hint: look at Rome.
Lee, if the best representative of “the Christian perspective” that you can come up with is Pat Robertson, then you’re absolutely reaching. Most Christians think that Pat Robertson is a stooge who gives them a bad image. I’m not a fan of church persecution of heresy, but I’d gladly pay to see Pat Robertson burned at the stake.
Try harder.
To which Lee replied:
There’s a big difference between “most Christians” and the people that Robertson speaks for, who are the activist social Christians. And you’re delusional if you think that the ultra-conservative social Christians don’t represent a HUGE voting bloc in this country.

Let's expand on this. Allow me to rephrase Lee's statement.
There's a big difference between "most Democrats" and the people that Kerry speaks for, who are the activist social liberals. And you're delusional if you think that the ultra-liberal social democrats don't represent a HUGE voting bloc in this country
