It Is Finished

Good grief. Three final examinations, one day. A multiple choice at 07:30, a math exam at 12:00, and a big ugly blue book essay exam at 18:00. At 17:40 I found out that [Generic University] has a regulation stipulating that a student can't be forced to take three exams in a single day. Of course, by then it was too late.

I'm not sure how I did on the first exam, which was for Biology. I didn't have to do that well; I've done well on everything else, and I'm taking it pass/fail, so it's basically a non-issue. Sorted.

I'm not sure how I did on the second exam, which was for Math. I took that class pass/fail, too, but I didn't do as good on the regular stuff as I did in the Biology course. I got a big fat D on the midterm, and sucked it up on a couple of the quizzes. I think I paid enough attention to detail, and had enough notes on my cheat card, that I made a good go at it. You've gotta love a multiple choice math test. I suppose we'll see.

The final exam was in my History course, with Professor Augustus. I think I did pretty well, and I was able to incorporate some comedy while demonstrating that I knew at least most of what I wrote. I'd sure like to get an A in that course to finish my last term with a 4.0 GPA. I still haven't done the damned paper.

So, that's it. Sixty or so more pages of research to do, most of which will hopefully be done this week; next week at the latest. If you'll notice, I've updated the tally to reflect the work I got done the other day.

Oh, by the way... My feet feel horrible. They've been in combat boots since before seven in the morning, and they didn't come off for more than about ten minutes until about ten in the evening. They just need air, but wow.

Right then. I'm off to bed. I'll have a look at the news tomorrow and tell you what's going on.

UPDATE: Oh, by the way. There are several of you who have linked to me, who I haven't reciprocated with yet. I'll get around to that later this week.

UPDATE: Now that I've been away from campus for a few minutes, the details of that last final are returning to me. I don't know whether I was inspired, or just dysfunctional from taking three exams in a single day, but I remember the following details:

  • I poked fun at "Progressives" and said that they disliked Steady State Theory because it implied that you couldn't change and improve, and I quote, "a perfectly good universe".
  • I said that if the speed of expansion after the Big Bang had been different, one result might have been stagnation, and related it to the French economy.
  • I made fun of physicists and said that when going to a pub on a Friday night and trying to chat up women, they "don't have a clue", and related it to their inability to determine pre-Big Bang causation.

If I'd really been on my toes, or rather, if I had a bigger pair than I do already, I would have called some famous scientist a hippy; Sir Isaac Newton, maybe.

    I'm exhausted. G'night, folks.
