New Addition

You see the helmets that these Royal Marines are wearing? As of about 12:05 PST today, I own one, with a brand new DPM (that's MOD talk for "camouflage", because the Brits never use a French word when they can make one up; and when they do use a French word, they always bastardize it, so that "reconaissance" becomes "recce", and so on) cover, complete with straps for carrying gear or for hooking in foliage for added concealment.

I rule.

It'll go with my existing set of British DPM utilities. Last year when I was in England, I probably dropped the better part of $600 on military surplus gear. Among other things, I bought three covers (two berets and a jungle cover), two pairs of trousers (one brand new, one surplus for PT-3 runs), a blouse (that's what folks in the military call a shirt, so no wisecracks), a full set (over-trousers and jacket) of DPM Gore-Tex gear, a DPM medic's day pack, a set of cooking gear (pans, mini-stove, burner fuel), a shamagh, some ration packs, a belt, and there was probably some more. Now I have the helmet to go with it.

Did I mention that I rule?

Now I just need to get a bergen and webbing (what American Marines would call deuce gear or an "LBV" (load bearing vest)) and I'll be fully loaded.
