The Deutsch Race

As some of you may know, the Germans are getting ready to hold elections. Even though the opposition party's lead may be slipping a bit...

BERLIN, Germany (Reuters) -- German conservative challenger Angela Merkel's opinion poll lead has shrunk since her TV debate with Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and she may not achieve her goal of a center-right coalition, surveys on Wednesday showed.

A poll by research institute Forsa, carried out on September 5 and 6 immediately after Sunday's debate, showed a center-right coalition between Merkel's Christian Democrats (CDU) and the liberal Free Democrats (FDP) winning a combined 48 percent of the vote, one point less than the total of all other parties.

... it still looks like the Germans are going to do what's best for their country, and send Gerhard Schroeder packing. If they do, then I will rejoice with a tall pint of Guinness while throwing darts at a picture of Anachronism... And, if she'll hurry up and fly into Metropolis, making sweet love to resident vixen Manda.

So basically, the darts thing.
