Super Fly Monday
I got called in to work at 10:15 this morning, which explains why posting was so light during the day. The day continued to be interesting after my four hours of work.
I came home for a while, got changed, and then wound up back down at work in order to update my time card and put the finishing touches on my resume/cv/whatever. I printed out a copy to show Father Time (properly capitalized for your enjoyment) and E-Mailed the file to The Wife; both of them are probably sick of reading about my Naval Science GPA. I drove out to Father Time's place to show him the document; he approved it, and I was on my way to College City to pick up my poorly painted tile. It turned out worse than I had intended, but it gave me a great idea of how to do the next one.
I was unable to get a hold of M@, in spite of the fact that we had discussed fairly conclusively that we intended to get together tonight and continue painting. While I was at the pottery store, I got a phone call from Sister Hippy Chick, who's passing through hometown on her way down to Hippy Central. Since M@ didn't get a hold of me, I drove home, and Sister Hippy Chick and I went to the local steak house for dinner. Once we'd finished, we walked back toward her folks' place, but on the way passed by my office. My uncle was there sitting on some time, so we stopped in to chat for a few minutes. After that we continued walking to her folks' house, where we sat and chatted over tea for about an hour and a half.
Once I was done there, I went back down to the office and submitted my resume to Raytheon as an application for that job I mentioned yesterday. I'd be perfect for the job, so my hopes are high; however, I'll continue developing a couple of different targeted resumes, and may post them on Monster early next week, possibly aiming for a position in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. I have a couple of ideas; I'll keep y'all posted. If I can't get anything there, my next option is to show up on Sneaky Pete's doorstep begging for change and used guitar picks.
Tomorrow Sister Hippy Chick and I are having tea before she leaves town to get back to Hippy Central. I'll also be putting in an hour or two down at work, and then taking care of some things around the house. If I can find a little bit of time, I'll post some additional thoughts about the situation in France. Oh, and the Fly Report, with Judges 11 listed as my scripture reading for a record... Fourth? Fifth day? I really ought to get that thing read!
