Gaza, DHS, and General Malaise
Ladies and gentlemen, today is Thursday. Today is the day that will make or break this week. I'm super serial. First, the news.
Most of today's news is about the war in Gaza. Bullet points will probably do.
Israel mulls expelling Venezuelan diplomat - Apparently the Venezuelan government expelled the Israeli ambassador because Israel is fighting an aggressive campaign against terrorists in Gaza, and Hugo Chavez has a giant chubby for Iran and Syria, who hate Israel for possessing a tiny tract of land that they owned long before there were any Arabs there. Go figure.
Hamas commander Mahmoud Zahar states that Israeli children are "legitimate targets" (Guardian, Times) - At least one member of Hamas has the balls to be honest about Hamas' intentions.
Al Qaeda No. 2 Blames Obama, Egypt's President for Gaza (AP, CNN) - So much for the election of Obama getting us goodwill with the terrorists.
Israel acts because the world won't defend it - A truly outstanding op-ed that puts the history leading up to this Israeli operation in stark context, and calls the "Palestinian" leaders out for who they are and what they represent.
Three other stories. Hugh Hefner's newest girlfriend claims to be a "good girl" - because "good girls" totally triple up on a dude in his seventies or eighties on a regular basis. The Air Force has developed a strategy for dealing with blogs. And, if you only read one of my links all day, you should read one of Michael Yon's latest, entitled Border Bullies, about how an anthropomorphized waste of taxpayer dollars harassed, intimidated, and interrogated a ninety pound Thai woman with a legitimate visa to visit this country who obviously posed no threat whatsoever to national security - and bullied her to the point of forcing her to give up her E-Mail password. I was furious when I read this article, I'm considering forwarding it to my elected leaders, and you should all consider doing the same thing. Read, consider, understand.
That's it for today, folks. Take it easy.
UPDATE: Okay, let's throw in something fun, just for good measure. Are you in the right age bracket to have grown up during the time when Michael Jackson was just a really eccentric celebrity? Did you ever play the Sega Genesis, or specifically Michael Jackson's Moonwalker? Behold, the Angry Video Game Nerd's review of the game. Hilarious.
Oh, and... Uh... How 'bout Nippon Budokan, where Cheap Trick recorded Cheap Trick at Budokan. Heck, let's throw in the corresponding video for "I Want You to Want Me".
Have a great Thursday, folks. Great success and all that.
