The Fly's Vacation: Day 3

Happy Monday, folks! First, the news.

  • Passport, documents linked to Al Qaeda member who planned 9/11 terror attacks are found along Afghan border (AP, Guardian, Times)
  • BBC: Internet addresses set for change
  • BBC: Somalia: where hair fringes, music and tobacco are banned - Tobacco is banned, but they chew khat all day long... You know, just like Mohammed did.
  • Guardian: What does [the Anglo-Catholic amalgamation] mean for women?
  • Times: Officers 'ate VIP dinner as [French] soldiers died in [Afghan] ambush'
  • Times: President Obama 'gave perks to donors'
  • Times: Johnston lays bare truth about Palin family - Okay, this kid is what, nineteen? I realize that the media hates Sarah Palin, but should we really be giving this kind of attention to a nineteen year-old? Would the media be giving attention to a nineteen year-old who claimed to have dirt on the Obama or Biden families? I doubt it.
  • Wired: Breaking News: Air Force Officer Speaks Pashto! - Unbelievable. Yet another reason to question the continued relevance of the Air Force, which should have been retained by the US Army instead of becoming its own service.
  • AFP: Russian submarine fails to launch troubled missile: report

So, I'm taking a week's holiday from work, trying to recover from the last few months, and finish up some projects. I probably won't blog much news this week, but I'll probably discuss different projects and such that I'm working on. Stay tuned.
