Addressing the "Crackpot"
This is in response to "Adisen" who posted in the old comments section a couple of posts back.
"Adisen", I actually tend to agree with you to some degree. Even though I'm a religious military man, I favor limited government, and aside from God Himself, I don't give a pass to anyone. I also think that we pump way too many chemicals into our bodies, and the bodies of our children. I'm in favor of improving the economic viability of organic foods and eliminating improper hormones and processing from our diets.
My point is less that you're a "crackpot" (which I honestly don't think that you are, though you sort of come off as one on the surface) and more that the burden of proof lies on you, and that I don't think that burden of proof has been met. If you want to convince me that vaccines are dangerous, or that certain foods should be avoided, you have to present me with some legitimate evidence. It's not that I'm unwilling to believe; it's that you're going to have to come up with some pretty keen material to get me onboard.
I've been vaccinated up the wazoo, probably even for stuff I've never heard of. All of my friends have been, as well; in fact, it's a requirement for admission into pretty much any school, even a public university like mine. I've never seen any evidence that these vaccinations, or certain foods, or whatever, have caused these health defects that you ascribe to them.
As much as I'm growing to think that Lee is an ignorant jackass, sometimes he makes really spot-on posts, like this one. Muslim fundamentalists deny their children vaccines and, guess what, their kids get measles and polio. Other than my fat ass and gut, I'm the picture of health. The difference, other than nutrition, is vaccines. Is it that I'm part of the industrial conspiracy, or that they've "gotten to me", or something? I don't think that it is.
I mean, am I really out of line here?
