No Compromise from Omar

Have you seen this story yet?

Taleban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar would refuse any offer of an amnesty from the Afghan government, a Taleban spokesman is reported as saying.

"We don't need any guarantee of safety," Taleban spokesman Abdul Latif Hakimi told the Reuters news agency.

On Monday the head of Afghanistan's reconciliation commission called on Mullah Omar to be included in an amnesty for Taleban fighters.

Mullah Omar has been in hiding since the fall of the Taleban in 2001.

Now, I can't find an article for it on Fox News, though I just saw a televised report on the subject on that network. They also had a picture of Mullah Omar, but as far as I could tell, it wasn't actually Mullah Omar. To the best of my knowledge, there are two known photographs of Mullah Omar. The picture they had was a lot clearer than the other two, but it didn't match the "good" picture, in facial features or anything else. The other tiny detail is that the picture they had on Fox News Channel appeared to have two eyes, and be wearing eye glasses. Mullah Omar lost one of his eyes in the Soviet/Afghan War, and neither of the other images show him wearing glasses.

Oh well.
