Democrats Support the Troops
Let it never be said that Democratic legislators aren't clueless and classless, with no new ideas and no grasp of reality.
I'll let you read the rest of the link for yourself. Let's review:
Gitmo prisoners are provided with religious materials and clerics. I don't seem to remember the Jews being provided with rabbis in the concentration camps, or any of the Soviet gulags including religious services (remembering, of course, that the Soviet Union was officially atheistic to avoid a conflict of interest in the citizen body).
Gitmo detainees get not only "culturally appropriate" meals (no pork, no beef, but chicken, fish, rice, vegetables, et cetera), but they get enough of them that all of the detainees have gained weight since they arrived. I don't seem to remember hearing about how the Jews were fed culturally sensitive meals at Dachau or Auschwitz.
You'll also keep in mind, dear reader, that since the detainees ddidn't follow the Geneva Convention by wearing uniforms, or being accountable to a chain of command, or fighting for a country, they are ineligible to receive the benefits of the Geneva Convention. Their treatment is a testament to the moral strength of American culture. After all, we all know what happens when these Islamofascist thugs capture an American, or a Brit, or an Aussie, or someone from Japan.
This is precisely the kind of thing that's been getting Republicans elected over Democrats in the last few elections.

If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners.
- U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL)
