The Grandpa Gang

I wasn't going to post this story about a gang of geriatric bank robbers in Germany, but this quote jumped out at me:

"It's unbelievable how easy it is to rob a bank once you've done it a couple of times," Wilfried Ackermann said during his trial, adding that fear of having no money and spending the rest of his years in a nursing home drove him to commit the crimes.

Now, there are two noteworthy things here. Because European police don't usually carry guns, these guys had a much easier time carrying out their tasks. Second, one man was fueled by his fear of being put in a nursing home; so mch for the whole theory of benevolent, perfect socialist health care, eh?
