Mormonism and Battlestar Galactica

For those of you who were unaware, the guy who originally pitched and wrote the first Battlestar Galactica incarnation was a member of the LDS church. Here's an essay that discusses some of the similarities between LDS theology and the plotlines and dialogue on the original Battlestar Galactica series.

As many of you know, I'm a big fan of the new incarnation of Battlestar Galactica, and I have a strong academic interest in LDS theology, doctrine, and history, and the new Battlestar Galactica shares a number of the similarities with Mormon theology that the original series had.
