The Fly: Super Nerd

Now, I know that you all picture me as a virile, charismatic leader of men. You see me as physically imposing, well-educated, a natural leader, excellent at drafting... Nay, at wielding prose. A patriot, a connoisseur of the finest alcohol, skilled at the things that separate man from beast: shooting, making tea, et cetera. Immaculately groomed, personally distinguished, flawlessly attired. Well, there's another side of me that many of you are unfamiliar with.

I am the king of nerds who do amazing thing when presented with too much "spare" (read: poorly prioritized) time on their hands. I've mentioned before that I put together an ancient history archive CD, right? Well, have a look at the entire contents of the latest version, which has only one more author (two short works) than the last edition did.

Appian - The Civil Wars
Augustine - Confessions, The City of God
Gaius Julius Caesar - The Gallic Wars, The Civil Wars
Epictetus - Discourses, The Enchiridion
Eusebius Pamphili - Ecclesiastical History
Edward S. Gibbon - The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire
Herodotus - The Histories
Flavius Josephus - The Antiquites of the Jews, The Jewish Wars, and miscellaneous works
Titus Livius - The History of Rome
Marcus Aurelius - To Himself
Plutarch - The Lives of the Greeks and Romans
Polybius - The Rise of the Roman Empire
Suetonius - The Lives of the Twelve Caesars
Gaius Cornelius Tacitus - The Annals of Imperial Rome, The Histories, Agricola, Germania
Thucydides - The Peloponnesian War
Xenophon - complete works
Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, Virgil's Aeneid, Apollonius Rhodius' Argonautica
Enuma Elish, The Epic of Gilgamesh, Confessions and The Shield of St. Patrick, Travels in Asia and Africa by Abu Abdullah Muhammad Ibn Battuta, and Rusiyyah by Ahmed ibn Fadlan, Sallust's Catiline Conspiracy, the Egyptian Book of the Dead, and Hammurabi's Law Code
Irish Gaelic - The Cattle Raid of Cooley, The Story of Mac Dathó's Pig (English and Gaelic editions)
Selected Latin editions of various works already included in English
The Fly's infamous class notes from four years of Professor Augustus' classes

I am king of the nerds. As a prize, to assist him in his church history work, Jacob Copper will be receiving a copy of the archive CD. Interestingly enough, I'm already owed a bag of M&M's by Friar Dave, who used it to quickly and easily figure out a Latin question posed by one of his professors at grad school.

I rule. Also, I get almost zero play from women. Today our resident vixen, Manda went as far as to recommend that I give up on women and get a pet. Brutal.
