A Passing Thought
Both Michael Medved and Bane the Impaler have noted the recent rise in the alert level for the New York City subway system, and come to the same conclusion. What is that conclusion? They're think someone wants to celebrate Ramadan by detonating (a) bomb(s) and killing people.
As Medved pointed out, people don't have the same fears with other religions. Rosh Hoshanah and Yom Kippur are this week; is anyone afraid of a horrific Jewish attack? Nope. Do people fear Christmas and Resurrection Sunday? Of course not.
Whatever qualms you may or may not have with Islam, I think that we can all agree that when your biggest religious holiday causes fear and uneasiness in those outside your faith, your religion and/or culture has a major problem.
