WWII FPS
I'd just like to say one more thing before I complete blogging for Thursday. If you're an executive at a video game company, and you're reading this... We get it already. World War II first person shooters. Europe. We understand. Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, et cetera, et cetera. It's bad enough that the same game is being retooled and released as a Vietnam or War on Terror game
We don't need twenty or thirty first person shooters about World War II. You can't possibly think that you haven't reached market saturation. Please, come up with something original, or stop. I mean, honestly; is it just laziness? Do you want to make as many games as you possibly can using the same two or three gaming engines? Do you want to avoid paying half of your staff for modeling new characters and soldiers?
Please, stop. You want to make a series of games worth playing? Try making a series of games based on what's going on now, where you get to fight terrorists and Jihad Joes.
Sorry, folks. I just keep seeing this commercial for "Call of Duty II: Big Red One", and after all of those Medal of Honor commercials and spinoffs, I had to rage for a minute. Carry on.
