Cry Me a River

Apparently, the Democrats weren't demoralized enough in November when they failed in their attempt to retake the White House from the evil Republican fascist overlord dictator, and also lost seats in both houses of Congress. Instead of respectfully bowing out and acknowledging that they A) are out of touch with the American people and B) had their asses accordingly handed to them on a silver platter with a side of Halliburton shares, the Democrats are contesting the results of the electoral college.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., will contest the results of the Electoral College that will give President Bush a second term. A joint session of Congress is set to meet on the matter at 1 p.m. EST Thursday.

Boxer's decision follows a similar one by several Democratic House members. With Boxer's challenge, congressional rules stipulate that senators and representatives must recess to their respective chambers to debate certification.

The action would be the first of its kind in 36 years, but probably will amount to no more than a procedural delay of the inevitable.

The core of the Democratic party (even though Senator Boxer is the fringe of the Democratic party) needs to acknowledge that they've lost touch with American values, they've lost touch with the America's founding philosophies and beliefs, and they need to get their act together if they want to accomplish anything. Don't believe me? Well, Tom Daschle's constituency would beg to differ with you.

American government works best when it has two parties with different ideas working to help Americans while interfering in their lives as little as possible. American government does not work when the out-of-touch opposition party does whatever it can to obstruct the conduct of government affairs.

Hear me now and believe me later, if the Democrats don't start paying attention to the real reasons that they're losing, they're going to cease to exist as a viable party.
