The Dark Side of Family Matters

From time to time, I enjoy checking out the Internet Movie Database; I just peruse and go where my mouse takes me. Today I was looking back over that old show Family Matters. A few interesting facts...

At least two of the actors from the series are dead. Rosetta LeNoire, who played Estelle "Mother" Winslow, died in 2002 of Diabetes. Michelle Thomas, who played Urkel's girlfriend, Myra Munkhouse, died in 1998 of stomach cancer after having refused treatment for fear of being rendered infertile.

After a few seasons, the character of Judy Winslow, played by Jaimee Foxworth, was eliminated from the series. Foxworth went on to become a porn actress who went by the name "Crave". She never saw any of the money from her time on Family Matters; it was put into a trust fund, and her family was apparently so bad with money that they declared bankruptcy, and the judge allowed them to take her earnings in order to keep them out of debt.

Very interesting. On the other hand, Jaleel White, who played the infamous Steve Urkel, is anti-drug, anti-alcohol, graduated from film school in 2001, and seems to have led a fairly normal life in spite of his time on Family Matters.
