Morning Inspiration
I don't know if any of you folks are familiar with The Proclaimers. This morning in the shower I listened to the first few tracks of their debut album, This Is The Story. I was reminded of the gorgeous drive from Hippy Central to the Pacific Coast, where I first listened to the album during the Summer of 2003 during a day trip to the coast.
I actually got to meet the guys, Craig and Charlie Reid, in April of 2004. They were playing a show at a little bar up in Metropolis, and I found out about twenty-six hours beforehand. As I was a college radio DJ, I was able to get a ten minute interview with the guys and see the show for free with my station manager MeShelle, who I took as my date. They're genuinely nice, the way that outstanding, underrated rock acts are genuinely nice. I think they were shocked to find that someone was still playing their old music on college radio.
I've got some things to accomplish today, so posting will be light, if it happens at all. If you haven't read Never Forget yet, you need to do so. Sons and daughters of Liberty, be excellent to each other... And be aware.
