Running at the Speed of Fly

I think I'm going to get called out of the house shortly, so this will be brief. Here's a quick update on the state of the Fly.

  • I'm on call this week, and will be on call three to four days every other week, for work. Don't ask, you don't want to know.
  • Of the four incompletes I have remaining in my university career, the only one that's actually keeping me from graduating will be cleared within twenty-four hours. I turned in the paper to my advisor tonight before having dinner with him and his wife at their home.
  • I successfully translated more Arabic today. God willing, I'll translate more tomorrow.
  • I think this is going to officially turn into a maintenance week in my workout plan. I haven't done my calisthenics since Friday, and even then I didn't do the pullups. I didn't get to the pool today, and though my pool workouts aren't what really worry me, I'm still aggravated that I didn't make it. I also feel the shin splints beginning, so tomorrow may be my last running day for about a week.

Tomorrow morning I'll update you on the developments in the British bombing investigation in depth. For now, know that it appears that the attacks were, indeed, carried out by suicide bombers. They apear to have been Brits of Pakistani origin, none of whom had previous criminal records. They were from western Yorkshire, which is in northern England. They travelled by automobile to Luton, and then took the train to Kings (King's?) Cross Station; they diverged, and the explosions took place about twenty minutes later.

Remember how we few, we happy few, we knuckle-dragging American savages essentially left the Islamic community alone after 9/11, and went to great lengths not to associate all Muslims with the terrorists? Brits have already started attacking and vandalising not only mosques, but also Sikh temples, in London. Vandalism has included graffiti reading "Bombers go home". So much for European moral superiority, eh?

They have identified three of the four suspects (possibly the guys on the trains) and have yet to develop a fourth suspect (Perhaps the guy on the bus? Perhaps it wasn't a suicide bombing?), and have little or no indication so far as to the identity of the fourth bomber.

I'm beat. (Don't ask, you don't want to know.) I'm headed to bed. Things should hopefully return to normal around here by the end of tomorrow; I haven't done a bona fide news survey (which is supposed to be on my daily list of things to do) since last Wednesday or Thursday!
