Cindy Sheehan Update

Here's an article from CNN about the Cindy Sheehan situation. Apparently a landowner has allowed the tent city (which Cindy Sheehan apparently isn't staying in after all) to move onto his land, which is a bit closer to President Bush's ranch. Somewhat entertaining is this tangentally related story.

CRAWFORD, Texas (CNN) -- Anti-war protesters outside President Bush's ranch here were startled Sunday by gunshots fired by a Texas rancher frustrated by the group's presence.

"Well, I'm getting ready for dove season," Larry Mattlage, 62, told reporters of the shots fired around 10 a.m. (11 a.m. EDT). Asked if there was an underlying message to the shots, which he fired harmlessly into the air, Mattlage told a reporter, "Figure it out for yourself."

God bless Texas.

And call me crazy, but didn't President Bush just reiterate and review the justification for the invasion of Iraq and reiterate its importance and benefits in this speech from 28th June? Maybe the President can satisfy Cindy Sheehan's concerns by having one a member of the Secret Service deliver a transcript of the speech. Or maybe, just maybe, Cindy Sheehan's motivation goes beyond seeking an answer for her son's death, and maybe she's pushing a preexisting political agenda.

Fox News also has a reader forum piece that paraphrases a song by the Clash that I used to play on my radio show: Should Cindy stay, or should she go home? Go have a look.
