A Different Kind of Seal

Completely unrelated to this post from yesterday, Victoria's Secret supermodel Heidi Klum is engaged to marry Seal.

"We affianced on a glacier in Whistler (Canada). We reached this beautiful place by helicopter one day before Christmas Eve. It was a unique experience," said a posting on Klum's Web site.

Whistler is a ski resort town in British Columbia.

Klum, 31, and Seal, 41, started dating last year, shortly after her breakup with Renault Formula One team boss Flavio Briatore, who is the father of her daughter, Leni, born in May.

To be quite honest, I'd taken to wondering if Seal was a bit light in the loafers, so this is great news to me, if for no other reason than I'm a moral absolutist who silently considers such things. He's been known to have some great arm candy in the past; there was a beautiful woman who was his date to some awards show back in '96 or '97 when "Kiss From a Rose" was big.

Anyway, I wish the two of them well, and this reminder may cause me to go out and get Seal's latest album, which I've been meaning to pick up for a while.

When I checked yesterday as I was writing up the guestbook entry, it was something like 1336 or so. I don't think it's hit 1400 yet, and I'm almost positive that it hasn't hit 1500. That's in about twenty-two months of both major combat, stabilization, and continued combat operations (Fallujah).

Also, that figure includes incidental deaths. For example, if some guy gets a virus and dies, even though the same thing could have happened in the States, it's counted in that figure. Vehicle accidents, et cetera, are counted.

I'll have a look later on and drop you an E-Mail with what I come up with, right now I have to head to class.
