Beautiful Pain

When is pain the greatest feeling you could possibly experience? When it follows a completely successful workout.

Remember how I had some trouble with the last set on Monday's run? Well, today I had only initial shin pain, and finished out the last set, and finished it strong. I think I picked up some speed today. Baby steps and all that. Following that was the time on the stationary bike, and after that eighty declined situps, sixty pushups, and nine machine-assisted pullups. I think I'll move to week two in the workout plan on Monday, and that's an exciting thing for me, particularly when I thought very, very hard about not showing up to the gym this afternoon, or else showing up and copping out by making up yesterday's (superficial) swim workout.

In spite of my late night and too-early morning, I made it through class and the workout alright. Shortly I'll head to work for an hour, then have an hour off for dinner, then go back for another three in the office. Same old, same old, but it's feeling more and more successful every day.

This "graduated" stuff isn't too bad so far.
