China, Human Rights, and Comedy

Apparently, the Chinese are unhappy with a UN report that alleges that they're still flagrant human rights abusers. Normally I'd just blog this is a regular story, but it reminded me of something.

Several years ago, I click-saved this image from a Canadian political cartoonist. I figured that I'd trot it out for all to see. I don't know that the Chinese have execution stadiums, but from what I understand, there are pretty clear signs that the Chinese do not have a good record on human rights. How could they? Communism, by its very definition, must ignore personal freedom in order to secure the objectives of the state.
