Saddam's Weapons

Apparently there's a report that's being released that says that Saddam Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction when his command was terminated by the coalition invasion in March of 2003. I guess they weren't paying attention to the whole al Qaqaa debacle in 2004 just prior to the election, where it was revealed that Iraq had unauthorized explosives used in nuclear warheads. They probably also didn't catch the load of yellow cake uranium that wound up in a European port, that was determined to have originated from Iraq. They might also have missed the load of chemical mortar rounds unearthed by Danish and Icelandic troops.

Saddam wasn't transparent; I personally believe that there's more to the story than we know with regard to Saddam Hussein and his WMD programs. Aside from that, we know for a fact, because Saddam was open about it, that he was one of the most active state sponsors of Islamist terrorism in the world. Bottom line, this little report that they're releasing doesn't really change my view of the situation much.
