This Parrot is No More

Ever seen Monty Python's Dead Parrot sketch?

Archaeologists have apparently unearthed a Greek manuscript that's being described as the ancestor of the Dead Parrot sketch. You can't make stuff like this up. And speaking of ancient history, Google Earth has released an explorable version of ancient Rome. (BBC, Guardian)

A European Union court has rejected Lego's trademark claims. It's nonsense like this, and the EU's treatment of Microsoft, that make it damn near impossible for European businesses to succeed.

The Syrian government is astounded by reports that its site tested positive for Uranium. No, seriously, they're shocked - shocked, I say!

FSM contributor Dr. Laina Farhat-Holzman has a great piece on the silver linings of the economic crisis. And in an uncharacteristically light note on Iraq, Deborah Haynes of the London Times has a blog post about flying with Superman in Iraq.

I'd love to write more - and in fact, I'd love to work on my novel - but I have to head to bed and get an earlier roll on my day than I did yesterday. I swear, half the people in this gaggle of cities need to have their cars confiscated for the public good. Today is the day that Quantum of Solace opens in American theaters, so I'd be willing to bet cash that I'll be there at some point tonight. Tomorrow will be chaos, I'm getting confirmed on Sunday, and I have an article that's now nearly a week overdue. Don't expect to hear from me much this weekend, but check back no later than Monday morning for new stuff. Have a great weekend, folks!
