Blast from the Past

I don't watch E! much, but one of the shows I can remember watching regularly in middle school, and maybe into high school, was Blossom. Right now E!'s running the Blossom True Hollywood Story, and though they apparently couldn't get her for an interview (at least, she's the one principle cast member who hasn't appeared in anything more than a show clip yet), it's brought back wonderful memories of the gorgeous Jenna von Oy. Jenna, who's gorgeous, played Blossom's best friend Six.

Interestingly enough, to me at least, Jenna von Oy's character was parodied on Saturday Night Live by Roseanne's Sarah Gilbert on 15th January 1994. The topic of the sketch was Blossom's dad (played by Kevin Nealon, I think) finding condoms; the Six character kept figuring out excuses, and used several:

"Uh, they're not condoms... They're balloons! For a party!"

"Uh, they're not balloons... They're, uh... Condoms, for a party!"

I think that Blossom was played by Melanie Hutsell, who was hilarious, but not quite as hilarious (and nowhere near as gorgeous) as Victoria Jackson; also interesting is the fact that Victoria Jackson is the only cast member at any time, out of about one hundred twenty former and current cast members, whose last name started with a "J".
