The Next Book
Okay, so I finished "Out of the Silent Planet" last night, and I'm going to start reading something else tonight or tomorrow. Here are the books I have on deck.
The Iliad by Homer
The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien *
Confessions by Augustine
The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell
U2 at the End of the World by Bill Flanagan *
Lost Moon by Jim Lovell and Jeffrey Kluger *
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden
So, give me your input? What should I read next? A couple of things to keep in mind...
The titles marked with asterisks are books that I started reading and never finished (Return of the King is listed because I read the first two books and never read the third).
Last night I finished a book by C.S. Lewis.
I've been trying to get around to reading Black Hawk Down since I was nineteen.
It's been about two and a half years since I touched any Tolkien, so it's an unfinished goal.
I've been waiting since I was about twelve to finish Lost Moon; it also happens to be an autographed copy.
So, give me your input. Also, for anyone who's curious, on the subject of which book of the Bible I'll be reading Romans. You'll have another chance to influence the decision in a couple of weeks, but do me a favor and don't say "John". Not gonna happen. If I read any one of the Gospels, it's going to be Luke.
